Riding Conditions in Gran Canaria / Maspalomas, Canary Islands
Riding Conditions
Wind and Weather Conditions
Warmer air, around 25°C all year. Winter a bit colder. 3 mm wetsuit all year needed, since the water is not warm enough.
Recommended wind for kitesurfing is wind coming from ENE, E, SSE, S, SW and WSW, W .
There is Trade wind at Gran Canaria / Maspalomas, Canary Islands.
The NE trade winds don't really reach to this beach. However, if the wind comes a bit more from the east, it hits it and makes it a great beach to ride on. In winter Southerlies winds make it excellent as well. Works in the winter at Easterly winds. El Faro: Not really allowed to kite here either but only really works on W-SW winds anyway which means crappy weather and no tourists on the beach. At these times there is no problem to sail here and it can be most excellent right in front of the jetty sticking out from the lighthouse.
Wind usually blows from NE on the spot.
The best moments to come to Gran Canaria / Maspalomas, Canary Islands are January, February, March, October, November and December .
