How to get there
Turn left out of Malindi airport. Follow road to the roundabout take the left road, pass Mousk. Follow that road till the end and turn left at T-junction. Follow this road for about half an hour and follow signs to Che Shale.

It is possible to ride all year round. Water temp: N.E. Monsoon: 26°C, S.E. Monsoon: 20°C. At 4° south latitude, the equatorial climate is near perfect.
Recommended wind for kitesurfing is wind coming from NE and SE .
There is Trade wind at Che Shale, Kenya.
The winds are either from the Northeast or Southeast and hence is always sideonshore. The winds can get up to 30 knots at times but usually more in the 16-20 knot range. When the winds are from the Northeast a constant trade wind builds up as the day goes on. The Southeasterly monsoon has it windy time around June and July and it is very windy then. NE Monsoon: average 10-18 knots (January to April). SE Monsoon: average 15-25 knots (June to September). The bay curves, making SE onshore further north.
Wind usually blows from NE and SE on the spot.
The best moments to come to Che Shale, Kenya are June, July and August .

Waves: center bay: 1-3m (June to September). South point: 1-2m (June to September). Reef: not possible to ride on low tides. But still room to ride elsewhere. As the area has a reef the water tends to be fairly flat. Tide is not really an issue as their isn't much of it. Kiting is always possible but in spring tides it gets very shallow. Nice wave riding on hight tide near the beach and on low tide at the reef.
