How to get there
A24 Belfast, Antrim. Follow signs Newcastle A24. A24 junction with Ravenhill Road. At roundabout take 2nd exit. A24 (edge of) Carryduff follow signs Newcastle. Pass Temple, Ballynahinch, Seaforde. At the junction with A25, at roundabout take 2nd exit. Then A2 to Clough, bear right, pass Dundrum. Then follow pick up signs to Tyrella.

The launching/landing area is reported to be of Tidal size.
Beach at high tide is not nice at all, lots of razor shells and seaweed. Low tide reveals hard sand.
It is usually quite choppy when the wind is coming onshore. Waves are variable depending on the wind conditions. And at high tide there is a small group of rocks covered that have to be watched out for. Groynes run out to the sea.
