"Che Shale is a rare and special place. It's set on the most stunning beach which is covered in 'fools gold'. Miles of tranquil walking on the empty beach, with mellow entertainment watching local fisherman or the kite surfers. The rooms are super comfy with an authentic vibe. We ate like kings and were beautifully looked after by Justin & Gussy and their team. Nothing was too much trouble and they organised a 24 hour bush trip for us at Kulalu Camp where we saw masses of game. We will be back!"

"One of the most beautiful, charming and relaxed places to stay on the East Kenyan coast, on one of the best Kite surfing beaches in Africa.
Family run by Justin & Gussy with original wooden and thatched bandas discreetly positioned close to the beach, superb food and cocktails and helped by a charming and most efficient team of helpers, including the excellent kite surfing instructor Omar."

"We stayed at CheShale for a week during our honeymoon, and we couldn't have asked for a more authentic and romantic place on the Kenyan coast. We were barefoot for an entire week 🧘♀️ and had some amazing, fresh seafood. The beach was huge, clean, silent (perfect if you, like us, hate loud music in public spaces) and we almost had it all for ourselves, as there are no other resorts around."
